We showed you the teaser trailer for Terminator Salvation on Wednesday, but like most teasers for these types of movies, you get a lot of flash but not a lot of robot. However, a new still image was released today that gives you a little better taste of the action—like Christian Bale pinning a Terminator robot with a helicopter then blowing his face off. An email Nvidia sent by Nvidia senior VP of marketing, Dan Vivoli, to ATI's president and COO, Dave Orton made public by the judge in an ongoing anti-trust suit against the two companies reveals that they both see eye-to-eye on prices. Namely, that they should be higher:

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron has been out since April, but Dell wanted to do a whole bunch of testing and add support for stuff like fingerprint readers, Bluetooth, HDMI and MP3/WMA/WMV out of the box before rolling it out on their Linux systems. So, we were a little premature when we declared Twitterific the best iPhone Twitter app—Twinkle, the hugely popular Twitter app with location goodness for Installer.app, just came to the App store. Its killer location features are totally intact: Tweets are lojacked with your current location (Twitterific just updates your profile's current location), and you can check out who's tweeting within one, ten, or up to 1000 miles from you.

Twinkle's UI isn't quite as info rich (like when you click on someone's tweet) as Twitterific's, and you can't check out a tweet someone is replying to like you can in Twitterific. But, it doesn't seem as prone to slowdown (Twitterific can absolutely drag if you're scrolling through a lot of tweets), and I dig the easy-to-digest convo bubble layout. Also, there's no ads for the free (and only) version of Twinkle. But it's the location stuff that really put it over the top. [iTunes, Tapulous]

I've never been on a trans-Atlantic aboard a military transport aircraft, but I can guess that they're not the most comfortable way to fly. So it's understandable that top-ranking Air Force brass would want something a little more amenable to resting, taking meetings, and watching Hot Shots Pt. Deux on a 37" flatscreen. That's where the Senior Leader Intransit Comfort Capsule (SLICC) comes in—a private chamber being built for Air Force officers with beds, couches, the aforementioned flatscreen and other amenities. The problem? The Air Force has been caught diverting counterterrorism funds toward big SLICC's development.

Officers already have what's known as the Silver Bullet—a small fleet of full-size trailers that can be loaded onto transport planes for officer travel, which the service claims is not sufficient for the amount of brass traversing the globe these days. What's got folks in Washington upset, however, is the diversion of over $16 million from the general "Global War on Terror" fund to build the pods, and ridiculous inefficiences like spending nearly $70,000 on subtle design tweaks like changing the color of the seat belts from brown to Air Force blue.

Granted, $16 million is pocket change for the Pentagon, and is anyone surprised that a government project is handling expenses inefficiently? When civilian first class gets more and more insane by the day, Air Force officers probably could stand a little in-flight R&R via SLICC.

Which sounds like a better way to make the roads safer: rescind drivers licenses from people who are very old and have failing vision, or create a fancy system with lasers to allow them to keep driving. If you answered the latter, you agree with General Motors for some reason! They're hard at work on a fancy new windshield that uses lasers, infrared sensors and a camera to make it easier for your decrepit old granddad to see just where the hell he's going.

The system projects a laser on the windshield to highlight things that you should be noticing, like the edge of the road on a foggy day or that first grade class on the crosswalk. The system is still a long way off, thanks to the many elements that would need to be put in place. For example, a mechanism would need to track your head and eyes to make sure the lasers were properly placed.

But hey, it'll be easier than prying the licenses out of the stubborn hands of people who are no longer fit to command a dangerous vehicle, right? [CNN]
